The ski is designed to promote good technique. If the skier does not weight transfer properly the ski can slip, just like on snow. The narrow large diameter front wheel is able to push debris to the side and roll over objects that stop conventional skis. This is a major safety feature as most accidents happen when the front wheel is stopped by objects in the pavement. (The rear wheel hitting debris rarely causes an accident)

The extra long shaft and the new shock absorbing tires reduce vibration. The front tire can be replaced without replacing the clutch and bearing assembly resulting in substantial savings.
